People will never rise above the opinion they have of themselves. That opinion is largely based on unconscious patterns and on what we think others think or will think of us.
The result of this is that we do not use our potential and feel that we are determined by external factors. Instead of sailing at a chosen point on the horizon, we sway with the issues of the day.
