5 minutes to set yourself up for success
I’ve always been fascinated by morning routines. They are associated with success and successful people, like Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey and Tim Cook to name a few. It’s not difficult to understand why. Morning routines include one or more of the following: making your bed (first accomplishment of the day), exercising, meditating or another way of focusing in silence, reading, a form of practicing gratitude like journaling, visualisation and goal setting. Each of these have significant benefits as established by hard science. Watch and learn
You cannot make omelettes without breaking eggs. Things will go wrong, people will make mistakes and plans will need to be adjusted. Companies can choose how to deal with this. At the one far end of the spectrum are organisations that regard mistakes and missed targets as failing. They will hold people accountable for what happened (‘who did it’). Let’s call that the Fear Factory. At the other far end we see organisations that are focused on learning and improving the business as a whole (‘what happened’): the Learning League.
